Synopsis

This video is a commissioned piece about the Loyola Chapel in Montreal. The Chapel retains its history and its original architecture even as it opens up to serve interfaith communities, student gatherings, and community organizing efforts. This is an impressionistic look at this special space in Montreal, and some of the people who have a meaningful relationship to it.

Synopsis

I take a candid look at my father, the ways in which the politics of oil played a hand in why we escaped Iran and the ironic twist of how we landed deep in the heart of Texas. It reflects the elusiveness of fragmented memories, shuffled among political upheavals and personal choices. It’s a film about the silencing power of shame, its effect on the body, and the voice that insists on piercing through.

Synopsis

This short experimental uses re-photography onto black and white 16mm film which was then hand processed (very rough and stinky process using buckets of chemicals and film reels dunked like tangled spagetti in a makeshift darkroom), then digitized for online editing.

Synopsis

A short film based on one of the hundreds of volunteers at the BIHE, an underground university in Iran, for students who have been denied access to university because of their religion. The situation in Iran is bewildering. There is no way to really understand this absurdity---and the man in the film is struggling with what his life has come to.

Synopsis

This was a sketch I shot one morning when we had a remarkable fog/mist in Montreal. Though I couldn't see them, I could hear that the birds have returned. So have the Canada geese. Just the night before, I'd read something by Anaïs Nin and this video sketch is a response to that sentiment.
